Our new door

So we've had the deck done for a month or two and finally had a weekend to cut a huge hole in our house, remove a window and replace it with a door! We were so worried, but it was easier than we expected! Here's the progress:

We just need a touch of paint and a little step down and it's finished! I love it! And though it looks like Dave did all the work- we did it all together and it was fun! We had music and destruction! Towards the end, though, Dave's perfectionism was a little overboard and I had to lay the " let's just get it done" smack down! We make a good team! :) I make us faster and more efficient, he makes it work and look good.

It's rare when a girl ( and Mom ) finds such a great friend that everything comes so easy. Even rarer when our husbands are totally awesome friends. Rarer still when our kids love eachother ( in Parker's case, really loves Lils). He asked her to marry him many times, when they were 3 or 4! Now let's take this to the next level, we were friends and joy school Moms in Carlolina- had 2 years apart, and then they move within 25 mins!!!! Well, they moved to Idaho this past weekend. I am super sad, especially since we didn't get together like we should've. Life happens I guess, but I am happy for these guys! Love you and we'll miss you like crazy!

Diorama time!

Lils told me at 6:15 tonight- "oh yeah, Mom, I have a diorama due tomorrow!". Every mom's favorite words. But, hey, at least she's only in 2nd grade and it had to be about an animal and it's habitat! Whew! Here's a good hours work. She did it all.

Thumbs up!

Rose loves to do a thumbs up or down which is super cute on its own. But my favorite is that she always has to touch thumbs! So fun!

Birthday girl!

My little baby is 3! I can't believe it! We're out for a special frozen yogurt birthday treat!

This is the best!

We had dinner out on our deck tonight while the kids played in the pond, came up for a bite, and went on playing. It's just so nice! Here's our mess of dinner that I don't plan on cleaning up for a while.

Happy early birthday, Rose!

Rose turns 3 on Monday, so we had a little family party tonight! We went to the little carnival that comes to town every year around this time, rode some rides, and spent way too much money.

Then we came home to chicken, pork, and veggie kabobs , and cake and ice cream! I made a cute cake for Rose this year that she really appreciates :(!! As you can tell in the picture! The little scrunch! No. She actually loved it! She loves "mee mouse" and all she talked about all week was her "mee mouse" cake that's strawberry and she turns 3! I made marshmallow fondant for the first time. I also made a rice krispie ball for the minnie mouse head that I covered in fondant and brushed melted chocolate chips on it to make it black. Then I stuck 2 peppermint patties into it. Then I just cut out white fondant circles. I had covered that whole cake in cream cheese frosting too, so it was pretty yummy before the fondant, which is very sweet. She was gifted many squinkies, books, zoobles, and a cute pink scooter. Happy times were had by all. Rose is our sweet and spicy! We love her cute and crazy ways! She makes herself known and loves to give kisses and hugs. She also loves pink, princesses and dressing up like super girl.
